The condition

It is 11:40pm and the tabs in your mind won't close.

  1. You are not tired from work. You are tired from being continuously required.

  2. You have run out of external explanations. So the fault has quietly gone internal.

  3. You are not stuck because you don't know what to do. You are stuck because you are waiting to be sure you will do it right.

  4. You have been sold vibes before. You paid for a shift and went home with a journal and no plan.

  5. You have not had an unclaimed hour in years. That frightens you more than the exhaustion does.

You didn't lose yourself.
You got buried under
everyone who needed you.

Everything else in this category tells you that you have potential. You have a résumé full of evidence that you are capable, so flattery bounces off. What nothing has explained is why capable feels like this.

Water explains it. You are not lacking anything and you are not behind. You are under something, and pressure is not a character flaw.

Nothing is wrong with you. Something is on top of you. Those are completely different problems, and only one of them is yours to fix.

A hand reaching up through dark water toward the light breaking on the surface above it.

The work

Four ways in, in order.

Start wherever is honest. Most people start with the letter and never spend anything.

A Sounding

One honest conversation about whatever you are carrying. Two days later a written page arrives: what you said, in the order it actually goes, and one clear next thing to do.

Retreats

The retreat. Fifteen seats, because above a certain number solitude becomes performance. Booking opens in September for the April getaway.

The Build

Brand, operations and business development, scoped after listening and never before. So that whatever surfaced has somewhere to stand. Every price is published.

Sometimes the answer is that you don't need me.

A Sounding ends with the truth, and that includes the version where the next move is not hiring me. The written page comes either way. Most people would have paid for the page on its own.

Proof

Their words, not mine.

My need to be perfect and always reliable had become the reason I failed to show up for myself when I needed it the most.
Kristi Retreat guest · Rise & Reground
I valued how Cydnie was always there, completely present. She shared her own story, which gave her the right to hear ours.
Carol Retreat guest · Rise & Reground
I valued how Cydnie was so willing to move mountains to make this trip be amazing and to make everyone feel comfortable and respected.
Anonymous Retreat guest · Rise & Reground
I walked in carrying fear that the experience would take more from me than I had to give. I left being able to breathe.
BJB Retreat guest · Rise & Reground
What stands out most is the dedication to making people feel welcome and at ease. It is comforting to know guests are in good hands from start to finish.
Kris Retreat guest · Rise & Reground
She listens with intention, quickly understands your vision, and brings it to life with ease. As a new business owner, she has lifted so much off my plate.
Tamara Consulting client · A Sounding, then a brand build
I’m so grateful our paths crossed. Her words have a way of landing right where you need them, and her online presence reflects the warmth and wisdom she brings to every interaction.

Before you book

You do not have to arrive ready.

Whichever one is actually stopping you, it is already answered.

I do not know what it is yet.

Nothing to prepare. You do not have to know what it is yet.

It is a tangle. I cannot explain it.

You bring the tangle. You do not have to organise it first.

I do not know what I would walk away with.

You leave with it named, in order, and one clear next thing to do.

I might not actually need this.

If the honest answer is that you do not need me, that is what you will hear.

Fifteen circles in a ring. Fourteen are filled; one, at the top, is an open outline.

Alone in a group of fifteen

The room I build

You'll be alone here. And you'll never be alone again.

You want to be seen, and you want everyone to stop needing you. You have concluded those are opposites. They are not: your enemy was never invisibility, it is extraction.

Nobody will need anything from you. Nobody will leave you either. That is not a feeling. It is architecture.

Fifteen is a cap, not a scarcity tactic. Above a certain number, solitude becomes performance.

Why me

I was the client.

Not as a story. As a timeline.

  1. Three years of being bullied and targeted at a company where that was not unusual for women. Postpartum. Motherhood. And hospitals, because my children have a rare genetic mutation and we have not stopped going since.
  2. I had never taken a last-minute trip in my life. The invitation came and I said yes in three days, with no plan, after two and a half years of not moving.
  3. I was alone in a group of fifteen, and I heard myself for the first time in years.
  4. That is the week I resurfaced. I came back and told that company I had a choice after all.

I am not describing a woman I once coached. I lead with heart and close with operations. Heart alone is a nice conversation. Operations alone is why you are tired.

Before you decide

Here is what I won't do.

A refusal you can read in advance is worth more than a promise you have to take on trust.

No flattery
If the honest answer is smaller, cheaper or slower than what you came for, that is the answer you get.
No template
No package, no formula, no version of you I have already sold to someone else.
No judgement
You will meet me where you are and I will not flinch at any of it. No shame either.
No rescue
Nobody pulled me out. Resurfacing is something you choose, and I will be there when you do.

If I don't fit into a box,
you shouldn't either.

Questions

Before you ask.

Is this brand strategy, or is this a conversation about how I feel?

It is brand strategy, and it starts with how you feel because that is where the information is. You cannot position a business when the person running it cannot say plainly what she wants it to do. So I lead with heart and I close with operations. You will leave with words for your business, not a mood. And if what you actually need is a therapist rather than a strategist, I will say so in the first twenty minutes rather than the last.

What if I cannot explain what is wrong?

That is the normal starting condition, and it is the thing being solved. You have run out of external explanations, so the fault has quietly gone internal, and that is very hard to describe out loud. Bring it in the state it is in.

What actually happens, and when?

We talk once, for as long as it takes, and I listen rather than wait for my turn. Two days later a written page arrives: what you said, in the order it actually goes, and one clear next thing to do. That page is yours whether or not we ever speak again.

What if I am not ready to spend $300?

Then start with the letters. They are free, they arrive once a week, and they are written the week they go out. Several people have read a few of them and worked out on their own what they were going to hire me to help them see. That is a fine outcome. Read the letters.

Start here

Come up. There's no wrong way to do it.

Ninety minutes, and a written page two days later. You bring what is tangled and I will say it back to you plainly, including the part where you need less than you came for.

The Letters

One letter a week about what it costs to run the thing you built. Free, and retreats open here first.
