Part one: Privacy

Who I am

This website is owned and operated by Cydnie Jocelyn LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company. Questions about this policy go to hello@cydniejocelyn.com.

What I collect

Information you provide. You give me information when you book A Sounding, inquire about The Build, express interest in a retreat, or subscribe to The Letters. That typically includes your name, email address, phone number, and details about your business or your reason for reaching out. I use it to respond to you and to deliver what you asked for. Nothing else.

Payment information. Payments are processed through HoneyBook. I do not store your card details. HoneyBook handles that data under its own privacy practices, which you can review at honeybook.com/privacy.

Information collected automatically, and only if you allow it. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics collects general location, device type, browser, pages visited, and time on page. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. I use it to understand what is working on the site. If you decline, none of it is collected and the analytics code never loads.

Fonts. The typefaces on this site are licensed through Adobe Fonts and are delivered by Adobe rather than by this website. Your browser requests them from Adobe directly, which means Adobe receives your IP address and the address of the page you are reading. Adobe uses this to count usage for font licensing. No cookie is set for this and none of it comes back to me.

Health information, retreats only. If you register for a retreat, you may be asked to disclose health conditions, dietary restrictions, physical limitations, or other information relevant to your safety and comfort. This is voluntary. It is held in confidence, shared only with facilitators or vendors directly involved in your care during that retreat, and used for no other purpose.

No health information is collected for A Sounding or for a Build engagement.

Cookies

This site uses cookies, which are small text files stored by your browser, for one thing only: analytics. Nothing is set unless you say yes. The first time you visit you are asked, and until you answer, no analytics code is loaded and no request is made to Google at all. Declining costs you nothing here — every page works exactly the same either way.

Your answer is remembered in your own browser for a year, and then you are asked again. You can change your mind whenever you like:

If you accept, the only cookies set are Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_KDB3GWPNHC. They tell one visit apart from another and expire two years after your last one. There are no advertising cookies here, nothing is shared with an ad network, and nothing on this site follows you onto another one.

Email

If you subscribe to The Letters, your name and email address are stored and managed in Flodesk. I use them to send what you signed up for. You can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email. Your information is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing.

Affiliate relationships

I am an active wellness partner with MakeWellness. If you purchase through a link I share, I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. I only share products I use. The relationship does not change what I recommend.

Third party tools

This site and my business run on the following platforms, each governed by its own privacy practices:

  • Vercel, website hosting
  • Adobe Fonts, website typography
  • HoneyBook, booking, contracts, and invoicing
  • Flodesk, email
  • Google Analytics, site analytics
  • Google Workspace, email and file storage

I am not responsible for the privacy practices of any third party service.

How I use your information

To respond to you. To deliver the engagement you booked. To send email you opted into. To process bookings and invoices. To keep retreat guests safe and accommodated. To understand how the site performs. To meet legal and contractual obligations.

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only as long as it takes to do what this policy describes, or as long as the law requires. You can ask me to delete it at any time by writing to hello@cydniejocelyn.com.

Age

This site and everything offered through it are for adults eighteen and over. I do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information here, write to hello@cydniejocelyn.com and I will remove it.

Links to other sites

This site links to sites I do not control. I am not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information I hold about you. You can ask me to correct it or delete it. You can opt out of email at any time. You can disable cookies in your browser. To do any of these, write to hello@cydniejocelyn.com.

Changes to this policy

I update this policy when the business changes. When I do, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the current version.

Part two: Terms of Use

By using cydniejocelyn.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Intellectual property

Everything on this site belongs to Cydnie Jocelyn LLC: text, graphics, logos, brand assets, written copy, frameworks, and retreat materials. It is protected by copyright and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or reused in any form without my written permission.

Work delivered inside a paid engagement is different. The written page delivered after A Sounding, and the deliverables produced in a Build engagement, are yours to use in your business without restriction once payment is complete. The underlying methods and frameworks used to produce them remain mine.

I keep the right to show work I produced in an engagement. That includes brand guides, identity work, websites, and written strategy, used in my portfolio, on this site, and in marketing. If you would rather your work stay private, tell me in writing and I will keep it out.

Not professional advice

What I share on this site, in The Letters, and inside engagements is strategic and educational. It is not licensed mental health care, medical advice, therapy, legal counsel, tax advice, or financial guidance. For anything requiring clinical or legal expertise, work with someone licensed to provide it.

You are responsible for the decisions you make in your business and for your own well being.

A Sounding

A Sounding is booked and contracted separately through HoneyBook. The agreement you sign at booking governs scheduling, payment, rescheduling, cancellation, and delivery. Nothing on this page replaces it.

The fee is for the Sounding itself. It does not apply as credit toward any other engagement unless I agree to that in writing.

The Build

Build engagements are governed by the individual service agreement executed between you and Cydnie Jocelyn LLC. Scope, deliverables, payment terms, and timelines live in that agreement.

Pricing published on this site is current as of the date shown and may change. Nothing on this site is a binding service agreement or a guarantee of any specific outcome.

Retreats

Where this page and your signed retreat guest contract differ, your signed contract governs.

What a retreat is. Retreats are designed for rest, perspective, and time with a small group. Experiences vary by person. Retreat activities may include movement, workshops, group conversation, outdoor excursions, and cultural experiences, and participation carries inherent risk. Cydnie Jocelyn LLC is not a licensed medical provider or mental health professional, and nothing that happens on a retreat is clinical treatment.

Booking and confirmation. Your space is reserved when a non refundable deposit is received and Cydnie Jocelyn LLC issues a booking confirmation. Submitting an inquiry or interest form does not hold a space. Spaces are filled in the order deposits are received.

Retreats are capped at fifteen guests. A retreat requires a minimum of eight confirmed guests to run. If a retreat does not reach that minimum by the date stated in your retreat contract, it will be canceled and the terms below for a cancellation by Cydnie Jocelyn LLC apply.

Payment. A non refundable deposit of $500 secures your space. The balance is due by the date in your retreat contract. Payment plans may be available on the terms set at booking. A missed installment may result in cancellation and forfeiture of everything paid to date. Accepted payment methods appear on your HoneyBook invoice. All prices are in U.S. dollars.

Refunds. All payments for retreats are non refundable, including the deposit. Spaces are limited, venue and vendor commitments are made far in advance, and holding your space keeps another guest from taking it.

No refunds are issued for any reason, including illness, emergency, schedule change, or inability to travel. No partial refunds are issued for late arrival, early departure, or activities you choose not to attend. Bookings are not transferable to another person without my written approval.

If I cancel. Cydnie Jocelyn LLC may cancel, postpone, or reschedule a retreat for reasons including low enrollment, safety, venue failure, natural disaster, government restriction, or other events outside my control.

If that happens, you receive retreat credit equal to everything you have paid, valid for two years toward a future retreat. Credits are not redeemable for cash. Cydnie Jocelyn LLC is not responsible for costs you booked independently, including airfare, separate lodging, transportation, or visa fees.

Travel insurance. Travel insurance is highly recommended for every retreat guest and especially for international retreats. A "cancel for any reason" policy is the only thing that protects your money if you cannot travel, because retreat payments are not refundable.

Before the retreat, every guest completes a travel insurance form. On it you either confirm you have purchased coverage or state that you are declining coverage and accepting the financial risk yourself. The form is required. The coverage is your decision. Cydnie Jocelyn LLC is not responsible for losses you incur after declining coverage.

Travel documents. For international retreats you are responsible for holding a passport valid at least six months past your return date, obtaining any required visas or entry documents, and meeting every entry requirement of the destination country. Cydnie Jocelyn LLC is not liable if you are denied entry. Flights are not included unless the retreat description states otherwise, and I do not book or pay for flights on your behalf.

Health and medical disclosure. By booking, you confirm you are physically, mentally, and emotionally able to participate. You agree to tell me in writing about medical conditions, injuries, physical limitations, dietary needs, or health concerns before the retreat begins. That information stays confidential and is used only for your safety and comfort. Consult your physician before attending. I may restrict participation in a specific activity if a condition poses a risk to you or to others.

Food. I make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies disclosed in advance. I cannot guarantee an allergen free environment, particularly abroad where food is prepared by third party vendors. You are responsible for managing your own dietary needs. Cydnie Jocelyn LLC is not liable for allergic or adverse reactions.

Conduct. Guests are expected to treat other participants, facilitators, and staff with respect. The following may result in removal from a retreat without refund: harassment or discrimination of any kind, behavior that disrupts the safety or well being of the group, use of alcohol or substances in a way that affects other guests, and any conduct I judge unsafe or harmful. I may refuse a booking or remove a participant at any time on these grounds.

Photography. By attending, you consent to being photographed and recorded during retreat activities, and to those materials being used by Cydnie Jocelyn LLC for marketing and educational purposes, royalty free and without time limit, across any platform. To opt out, tell me in writing before the retreat begins. Opting out does not affect your booking or your participation.

Rooming. Room preferences are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. If you book a shared room and no suitable roommate is available, you may need to upgrade to a private room at your own cost. I may reassign accommodations for safety or logistical reasons.

Assumption of risk. Travel and group experiences carry risk, including physical injury, illness, property damage, delay, weather, and events no one can foresee. By booking, you accept those risks, known and unknown. You take full responsibility for your own safety and well being. You release and hold harmless Cydnie Jocelyn LLC, its members, staff, contractors, facilitators, and partners from claims, damages, losses, and liabilities arising from your participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Schedule. The schedule, activities, facilitators, and inclusions may change at my discretion for weather, safety, venue, or availability reasons. I will communicate changes as early as I can. Activities not listed as included are at your own expense.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Cydnie Jocelyn LLC is not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site, your participation in a retreat or event, or your engagement with any content or service offered here.

Governing law

This policy and these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes are addressed first through good faith negotiation. If that fails, disputes go to binding arbitration in Minnesota.

Changes to these terms

Cydnie Jocelyn LLC may update this page at any time. The current version always lives at cydniejocelyn.com/privacy-policy. Continued use of the site means you accept it.

Accessibility

I want this site and everything offered through it to be usable. If any part of the site is difficult to access, or you need an accommodation to take part in a retreat or event, write to hello@cydniejocelyn.com and I will do what I can.
